Who we cover

Are you covered by who we cover?

For cheaper car insurance, hundreds of thousands of people get Swiftcovered. But there are some people we don't insure.

Whether we'll insure a particular driver, either as the policyholder or as a named driver, depends on a combination of things - their age, driving convictions, claims history and the car they're driving are just a few examples.

We provide policies to UK residents aged 19 and over - there's no upper age limit. If you're 17 or 18 you could be covered, but only if you're added as a permanent named driver by a driver we already insure.

We can't cover anyone:

  • with non-motoring offences unspent under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
  • who has had insurance declined, cancelled, voided, or special terms imposed
  • who works part time or full time in:
    • entertainment, gambling, modelling, and professional sports
    • foreign or diplomatic service
    • scrap, second-hand dealers and merchants, market and street traders
    • bailiffs, debt collectors, bodyguards or doormen/women
    • mobile mechanics, taxi or mini-cab drivers
    • couriers, dispatch drivers, mobile caterers, or fast food delivery drivers

We do not cover more than four drivers on any one policy.

Please remember to keep all your details up to date because your cover could be affected if anything isn't correct.
